She graduated from Kocaeli 24 Kasım Anatolian High School and Maltepe University Faculty of Law, 30% English Law Department with the first degree. After her undergraduate education, she worked in law firms operating in the fields of international private law, foreigners' law, commercial contracts law and bankruptcy law. In 2017, Çalışkan received advanced English and business English training in New York and is fluent in English.

She has also participated in European Union projects in various countries on human rights and discrimination and has carried out various studies.
She is an Expert Mediator in Labour and Commercial Law registered in the mediation registry of the Department of Mediation. She specialises in Insurance Law, International Private Law, Family Law, Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law and Contract Law.
